The Japanese have been using Binchotan to purify water for centuries. Binchotan is an active carbon made from tree branches and is renowned for its ability to soften water, it also adds good minerals and absorbs unwanted tastes and odours, such as chlorine, chloramines and other impurities.
We use a Binchotan stick in our hand painted carafes and tumblers as it’s a simple and natural way of filtering tap water.
Our Binchotan sticks arrive individually vacuum foil packed for freshness and are pre-washed and ready to use.
When you have finished using your Binchotan as a water filter after 6 months it still has many secondary uses.
If you break it up and put it in your house plants, it will add nutrients to the soil that will help the plant to grow. Due to its porous surface, it can be used as a deodoriser to remove unwanted odours in your cat litter, laundry basket, nappy bin or shoes. Binchotan is also an effective moisture absorbent and can help absorb humidity in the air if placed in a wardrobe.
Please note that this listing is for one purifying stick only.
